The old celtic ogham calendar has become an item of considerable interest, recently- along with certain other calendars... I don't concur with the opinion that it is a lunar calendar, at all- I say it is a solar one. Perhaps this misinformation has become a staple of American feminist writers, on the topic; the idea that the great chieftains were, in ancient celtic times, women isn't exactly correct- there is truth, I'm sure that some of the greatest seers, healers, loremasters, etc. were women. Feminism's brawly power center has been America- it is a result of a situation which has arisen, a higher ratio of women to men. simply; secondarily, the average quality of the men is not so high- I don't think quite as high as that of the women. The women become pugnacious about vocational, wealth, esteem, natural qualifications, etc.. A true tribal chieftain, however, should be a Grand Initiate; in other language, he must wear The Helm Of Awe (Nordic), hold the Kether Initiation (Templar), be the Llama's chosen protégé (Tibetan), etc.... only a male can hold this "Key", and certain other Keys as well. During one epoch, this initiate, as ruler, has been called Pendragon. A woman can be a high priestess, spiritual master, or even Avatar- it's just that she won't be saddled with the karma, or duty of serving as the head of an organization, tribe, school, esoteric lodge, or church. A woman cannot be the head of the Christian church, who has been called Pope- by the time Pope Joan came into office, I think that Key, really, had been lost, the one that Jesus had entrusted Peter with.
For myself, personally, Lunar calendars are actually among the best for me to work with- one must have the perfect alignments, for numerology. Our civil calendar is kind of a sham- it is actually baneful. Coincidence Control makes results, interpreted by numerologists and astrologers, somewhat meaningful generally, however. Tropical astrology, extremely popular, is not as good that sidereal, that used by hindus. In my opinion, the old celtic ogham calendar is precious. ECCO. or Earth Coincidence Control Organization, has been explained by John Lilly or E.J. Gold. Meaningful coincidence is what makes numerology potent, with the right attributions and alignments...
