Ford is testing traffic lights that turn green for emergency services March 31, 2022by Martin 6 Ford is working on smart connected traffic lights to help emergency services get to incidents faster. The lights may turn green when an ambulance, fire truck, or police vehicle is nearby and in emergency response mode. This not only opens up a clearer route for the relevant services, but also helps prevent accidents that may occur to the defendant when running a red light. A Ford Kuga plug-in hybrid car equipped with on-board C Level Executive List communication units acted as an ambulance in the test scenario.
